About Us

American Technology Corporation was incorporated in 1985 when Jim Davenport, President, bought an electro-mechanical, manufacturing entity from Westinghouse Electric Corporation (Westinghouse was subsequently purchased by Northrop Grumman). This entity had been created 16 years earlier (1968) by Westinghouse to produce aerospace electronic-based equipment for the Department of Defense. This facility has now operated successively for over 35 years without disruption of operations from the same location.

American Technology Corporation has served as a prime contractor on major programs such as the Universal Second Skin for the M40 Mask. Our company has also servesd as an integral subcontractor to Smith Detection, W.L. Gore, Intellitec, General Dynamics, BAE Systems Advanced Technologies, and Westinghouse. With successive years of experience in testing of electronic and mechanical products, ATC also has considerable experience in the design, development, and manufacture of chemical-biological (C-B) protection and detection equipment, producing more than 3,000,000 C-B items over the past 15 years.

In addition to the M40 Mask, our company has designed, developed, tested, and produced second skins for the M40 Mask (US Army and Marine Corps), the MCU Mask (US Air Force), and hoods for C-B protection. ATC has also produced spares and subassemblies for the Improved Chemical Agent Monitor (ICAM) and other detector programs. We have performed and passed First Article testing for all of these items. Over the past 15 years or more, ATC has produced more than 3,000,000 C-B items.
